The fragrance for the artwork MARIA
To purify the environment and provide a quiet and deep breathing that predisposes to reflection and meditation.
Since the first installation of the artwork MARIA in Barcelona in 1998, Guido Dettoni della Grazia believed in the need for an olfactory stimulation whose notes had to be integrated into the spiritual experience proposed by the artwork MARIA Thus, establishing a record in the memory of those who approach this image of Mary and also stimulating for prayer and meditation.
Coinciding with the Palma de Mallorca MARIA exhibition in 2000, Guido Dettoni della Grazia created a fragrance, composed from the essences of shrubs and plants on the island, which accompanied all MARIA installations until 2010 when he decided to review the composition and update it.
To achieve this he met with Antonio Alvarez Balastegui, a technical creator expert on scents and incense.
The fruit of this encounter produced not only the master formula for this fragrance, but also the Incense (sticks) whose perfumed smoke symbolizes the attitude of the offering and elevation of the prayer.
It is a meaningful choice in the preparation of this fragrance that only pure essences -adamantly excluding any synthetic additive- are used. The 10 plants and resins from which these essences are extracted are:
Rosemary, Sage, Laurel, Juniper, Cypress, Palmarosa, Cedar, Myrrh, Opoponax, and Incense.
La fragancia de la obra MARIA
Para purificar el ambiente y proporcionar una respiración tranquila y profunda que predispone a la reflexión y la meditación.
Desde la primera instalación de la obra MARIA en Barcelona en 1998, Guido Dettoni della Grazia creyó en la necesidad de un estímulo olfativo cuyas notas debían ser integradas en la experiencia espiritual que la obra MARIA proponía. Por lo tanto generar un registro en la memoria de aquellos que se acercaban a esta imagen y también estimular para la meditación y la oración.
Coincidiendo con la exposición de Palma de Mallorca MARIA en el año 2000, Guido Dettoni della Grazia creó una fragancia, compuesta por las esencias de arbustos y plantas de la isla. Ésta acompañó a todas las instalaciones MARIA hasta el año 2010 en el que él decidió revisar su composición y ponerla al día.
Para ello se encontró con Antonio Álvarez Balastegui, un técnico creador experto en perfumes e incienso.
El fruto de este encuentro produjo, no sólo la fórmula magistral, sino también el incienso cuyo humo perfumado simboliza la actitud de la ofrenda y la elevación de la oración.
Es una elección significativa que en la preparación de esta fragancia se empleen exclusivamente esencias puras y que se hayan excluido de forma tajante cualquier aditivo sintético. Las 10 plantas y resinas de las que estos aceites se han extraído son: Romero, Salvia, Laurel, Enebro, Ciprés, Palmarosa, Cedro, Mirra, Opopónax y Incienso.
